The Enemy Of Zeal……(Lukewarmness)

There are many enemies of zeal, but I only want to focus on a
condition that can swallow up your zeal if you allow it to spread. It’s called
Lukewarmness.

Lukewarmness is when a person is living more in the flesh than in
the spirit. In Revelation 3:14-22 it talks about how the church of Laodicean and
how they’re being rebuked for indifference (coldness, lack of heat).Their
attitude was the root of their problem which was based on a carnal
,materialistic lifestyle (Revelation
3:17 (KJV)
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with
goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and
miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked).

Lukewarmness can causes

Spiritual paralysis.

Surrender of your first-love relationship with Christ.

Profession of faith without substance.

mediocrity in service to Christ and the Church.

indifferent, and ineffectual prayer

Complacency and idleness

Extreme reluctance to sacrifice anything.

Burdenless attitude towards the suffering of others.

Passionless attitude towards all good things.

Neglect of spiritual activities and responsibilities.

Spiritual deception about one’s actual status as a believer.

Let us fall into the trap of becoming a lukewarm church ! We must
accept our responsibilities and have a love and desire to do the will of the
father! Have a glorious day!!!

Receiving By faith

Hebrews 11:1-6

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. [2] For by it the elders obtained a good report. [3] Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. [4] By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. [5] By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. [6] But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did. By faith he was commended as a righteous man, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead. By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.

Now in verse six it says:But without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must [1] BELIEVE that he EXISTS and that [2] he REWARDS those who [3] EARNESTLY SEEK HIM.

three keys to receiving anything from God:

1. We must genuinely, sincerely believe in God.

2. We must believe that God responds to His people and rewards them.

3. To receive God’s rewards, we must diligently seek Him.

Anyone who comes to God must believe that He exists. Anyone who comes to God must believe that He rewards His people. Anyone who comes to God must believe that he rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

“7 Steps To Kingdom Witnessing”

No matter where you may find yourself on this Christian journey, “7 Steps to the Kingdom” approach to witnessing is not only feasible for all Saints to utilize, but it is also straightforward and uncomplicated. It entails having a brief conversation with someone who may not know who Jesus is:
By Bishop Jackson
1 GREETING: “Hello, may I have one minute of your time?
2 STATE: “Did you know that Jesus Christ is Lord? Well, He is and He loves you and wants to be your Lord and Savior. A lot of people want to be saved but just don’t know how.”
3 SAY: Romans 10:9 says – “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved.”
4 ASK: “Can you say Lord Jesus?”
5 PRAY: “Let’s pray, repeat after me: Lord Jesus, forgive me for all my sins. I believe that you died on the cross, was buried and on the third day God the Father raised you from the dead. Right now Lord Jesus, open the door to my heart and I receive you into my heart, as my Lord and Savior.”
6 QUESTION: “According to the prayer you just prayed, where is the Lord Jesus?”
7 CONFIRMATION: Share I John 4:4 – “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.”

“The Maid Spoke My Miracle”

On yesterday I preached a message entitled: “The Maid Spoke My Miracle”.  2Kings 5:1-6, 15.

In this message I was talking about a Man by the name of Naaman. He was a commander of an army, a friend, counselor and confidant of the king. Yet, Naaman was powerless over one thing. He had a disease called leprosy. At Naaman’s house there was a young maiden that was captured previously and became his wife’s handmaiden. Now I’m pretty sure that this maid heard many private conversations between Naaman and his wife. One day she took a chance and told her Mistress that there’s a prophet in Samaria that could heal him from leprosy .Therefore convincing   her master to go.

They had never heard of anyone who could cure leprosy. It sounded too good to be true! Naaman got ready at once to go and find the prophet. The king of Syria gave him a letter to the king of Israel. He prepared chariots and horses. Servants went with him for he was a very important man. He took many gifts along, gold and silver and some beautiful robes. When they got into the land of Israel, Naaman went at one to the king and presented the letter from his king. The letter simply said, “I am sending Naaman to you so you may heal him of his leprosy.” The king was distraught and thought that the king of Syria was trying to pick a fight.

Word soon reached Elisha and he sent his servant to the king saying, “Send Naaman to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.” When Naaman arrived at Elisha’s house he sent his servant out to him with a message, “Go and wash in the Jordan River seven times, and you will be clean.” Naaman became angry, “Why, I thought he would come out himself and put his hand on my sores and pray to his God. There are better rivers on my land than this muddy Jordan. I’ll not do it.”

But his servants gave wise counsel saying, “If the prophet had told you to do something hard, you would have done it. Even though this is a simple thing try it.” So Naaman took off his outer garments and walked out into the water. Then he dipped down whist the servants watched. When he came up the seventh time, the spots were gone.

The Bible says, “His flesh came again like the flesh of a little child and he was clean.” All his servants could see that he was completely healed.

Now In Order for Naaman to accept the miracle that was spoken to him by the maid he had to:

A-He identified that he had a problem, leprosy. Instead of hiding it and ignoring it he decided to do something about it. He talked to his family. He talked to his king. He listened to his servants. He acted on their advice.

B-He was willing to humble himself instead of letting his pride take over. Naaman was willing to sacrifice a little to gain a lot.
In essence,

C- Naaman was willing to do something about his problem. He never gave up. If necessary, he was willing to go to the highest authority in whatever country necessary to be cured. When offered a solution he didn’t waste time. He acted on the information immediately. We need to take a lesson from Naaman. After he identified the problem and acknowledged its existence, he was willing to do something about it rather than wallow in self-pity. It did not bother him to take advice from a lowly servant. It did not bother him to liquidate all his wealth to pay for a cure. It did not bother him to enter enemy territory to seek a cure. He was willing to pay any price, give any gift, Make any sacrifice,
Travel any distance to seek a cure. He pulled out all the stops and thereby laid the groundwork for a miracle.

The young maiden had faith in her God and therefore saw the miracle of Naaman listening to her and acting on the information. Naaman had faith that he would be cured of his disease if he traveled to Israel and saw Elisha and because of that faith God did cure him of his disease.  Remember the maid spoke his miracle and thru his obedience and faith he’s healed.

God can use anyone to speak a miracle into your life! Just make sure that you have a heart to receive the miracle.

A Love Check

When was the last time you did an evaluation on yourself concerning love? Do you still love your brother’s and sister’s in Christ like you use to? Do you love un-conditionally? Do you love the way Christ commands us to love?

In dealing with the origin of love The Bible indicates that love is from God. In fact, the Bible says “God is love. Love is one of the primary characteristics of God. Likewise, God has endowed us with the capacity for love. This capacity for love is one of the ways in which we are created in the image of God.

The Greek translation of “love” in the New Testament is “agape.” This love is represented by God’s love for us. It is a non-partial, un-conditional, and sacrificial love.

In contrast, our love is usually conditional and based upon how other people behave toward us. This kind of love is based upon familiarity and direct interaction. The Greek word “phileo” defines this kind of love, often translated “brotherly love.” Phileo is a soulish kind of love (connected through our emotions) – something that can be experienced by both believers and non-believers. This is in contrast to agape, which is love extended through the spirit. Agape love requires a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, since the non-regenerated soul is unable to love unconditionally. Agape love gives and sacrifices expecting nothing back in return.

1 Peter 1:22 says: Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

There are 3 ways to love

  1.  Love Fervently
  2.  Love with a pure heart
  3. Love As Brethren

To love fervently means to have a great intensity of feeling or to boil. To be sincere means that you have to have an honest interest in another by being pure, genuine and true.

Peter is telling us that it is natural for someone who has been born again to love the rest of the brothers and sisters in the faith. That comes from being cleansed from sin and purified and starting anew life and having a common salvation. But because you have this natural capacity to LIKE each other, take it a step further, take it a notch higher, take it deeper and LOVE each other (FOR REAL).

Loving with a pure heart means that you have to purify your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit (his word) .When we become Christians, loving of our brothers and sisters in Christ should flow naturally. Our love should be genuine, real, and un-tainted. There are  people today that only  love on a conditional basis or shall I say I love you until you make me mad, hurt my feelings, reject me, or don’t do as I say!

Loving your brethren is just like love yourself. It’s unconditional! It’s Christ like (agape love). It doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from, or what nationality you are, we must show real love. In John 13:34-35 Jesus says: A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. [35] By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have loved one to another?

This command was first given in Leviticus 19:18 but in the New Testament it’s a renewed commandment with an additional part “As I have loved you”.  Jesus not only loved His neighbor as Himself, but He loved him more than Himself, for He laid down His own life for others.  In this He called upon His disciples to follow Him by being ready on all occasions to lay down their lives for each other. Now that’s what I call pure and unselfish love.

So on today let’s do A Love Check! As the young folks say “How’s your Loving”.

Psalm 68:19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.

On today I would like to present to you your Benefits Package just because you serve an awesome God!

A Benefits Package From God

 He forgives all our iniquities.
He heals all our diseases. (Physical, mental, emotional, spiritual).
He redeems our lives from destruction.
He crowns us with loving kindness. (He loves us because we belong to Him).
He crowns us with tender mercies. (He doesn’t punish with the punishment that we deserve but     treats us tenderly.)
He satisfies our mouths with good things. (He is a good God that gives us good things.)
(So that) our youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
He executes righteousness for the oppressed.
He gives His judgment for all that are oppressed. (He takes up our cause for us.)
He makes His ways known to us.
He makes His acts known to us.
He is merciful to us.  (He does not give us all the punishment we deserve).
He is gracious to us. (He gives us good things that we don’t deserve).
He doesn’t fly off the handle with anger at us.
He gives us much more mercy than we can imagine.
He doesn’t’ continue to rebuke us. (Chide).
He doesn’t stay angry with us forever.
He doesn’t fully punish us for our sins. (His mercy).
He doesn’t fully punish us for our iniquities. (For our bent toward wandering away from Him.)
He shows great mercy to us who fear Him.
He removes our transgressions from us as far as the east is from the west.
He loves us like a father loves his children. (Pitieth)
He knows the purpose in our conception. (See: Psalm 29:11 Psalms 139).
He remembers that we are humans made from dust.
He knows that our lives are temporal, then gone.
(In contrast) His mercy toward us is from everlasting to everlasting.
His righteousness is not only to us, but to our children’s children.

His mercy is to them who keep his covenant and especially to them who remember, and keep

 His commandments.

“Open-Minded Vs. Closed Minded Leader”

By being a Leader in the Body of Christ I’ve noticed that we’re faced with much opposition and rebuttal on regular basis.  Leaders, how we handle these situation will determine if we are open-minded.

Being open-minded means being ready to entertain new ideas instead of rejecting them. There’s nothing more detrimental to a leader than have a closed mind to other people’s ideas. If things aren’t working in the ministry as the leader anticipated, regroup and realize that the plan just didn’t work.

Many times our members may have a God-given  idea that will enhance , aid , or be the solution to what we are trying to accomplish but because  the  leader  didn’t propose  it, and present it, leader’s tend to  feel as though their  authority is being  jeopardize causing the leader to  reject the solution by being closed-minded. When a person becomes close-minded they become prime candidates for satanic harassments. With-in that leaders mind they will receive satanic impression, illusions, perception, suspicions, and deception (making the leader feel as though there ability to lead  is not good enough for  that member).

There’s a song that says; No man is an Island. 2 Corthians 1:24 says:  Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith

Simply meaning this we don’t want to become lord over your faith, but we’re here to help you! (Member’s)

Leaders we need the members & Members you need your leader!

As a leader we must trust God and know that he sends people to help implement  the vision that God has given  by bringing the vision to past. Yes leaders are the head, with one vision, but God does sends other’s to help build upon that vision. So please accept the help that God has sent to you and be open-minded to new ideas.

Seasons of Prophetic Preparations

Have you every received and assignment from God but you feel as though you’re not qualified to do it? You’ve been called to the Office of a Prophet.  You’ve Spent years of preparation, birth out other prophets, but still feel like there is more to it that what you see now.

For the past  six months God has been dealing with me about  Creating a Prophetic Training Manual for our ministry. Still preaching, prophesying , but denying  the assignment at hand. Next , God begin sending  Prophets  to join  our ministry that needs training. After much battling  within my spirit in July 2010, I started compiling information for this manual.

On yesterday I decide to go to the mall and sit at  Barnes & Nobles ( one of my favorite places) to do some more composing of this manual. Once in the store I notice that their was  no chairs  available to sit in so I sat in  the food court to write. As I was searching through the word of God. The Spirit began to speak to me concerning what I’ve been praying about concerning this manual( How I actually felt about it).

This was my prayer : God I know that you gave this assignment but I feel as though   I’m not worthy to accomplish such a great task. I feel as though I’m not qualified for this. I said God I’ve never been to a School Of The Prophets before. Everything that I’ve learned you have giving me thru my prayer  and study  time with you!  God I have fasted, researched this, brought books, manuals, called friends and I still feel like I’m not worthy to do this.I feel stagnated myself! Ifeel like  should be  in Someone else school! Why Me God!

While researching  I begin to read and article that Les D. Crause wrote : Prophetic Preparation for the Office Of Prophet. This article really blessed me.

As the tears begin to roll down my face I hear the Spirit of the Lord say:

Fear not for I am with thee! For I’ve already ordained thee a Prophet  unto the nations ! For this is a season yea shall sup with me thru  my Word. For I have already equipped you for this assigment .Read Isaiah 42:9  (Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them). No longer shall yea call yourself  Pastor. I call you Prophet Sheila  Thompson. Seek me early in the morning and I shall reveal mysteries unto the. For this is one of many  season of Prophetic Preparation for thee. For I have ordained this season for such a time as this!

I begin to see why I was rejecting this assignment . I had to  cancelled out fear, doubt, complacency,  and rejection. In this new season of prophetic preparaton  process I have to die to the flesh even the more  in order to move into a greater place of Authority in the Kingdom of God.

Finally I got it! The answer to my prayer!

From My Heart To Yours,

Prophet Sheila Thompson
